LOIS Youth Section
Our History
As the Orange Order grew it became clear that there were many children keen to follow in the footsteps of their parents and become part of the Orange family. The Juvenile and Junior section was formed admitting children from the age of 5 to 15 years old giving them the opportunity to start their Orange careers. At the age of 16 years old the young member is then permitted to cross over into the adult section of the Lodge and many of our adult members have followed this path through their Orange life.

Following a restructuring, the Juvenile and Junior section merged and became known as The Youth Section where kids of all ages mix together as part of the same Lodge.

Over the years the history of this great institution, Protestant faith and Christian values has been upheld and taught to our kids by the dedicated Superintendents across Scotland. Throughout the year our Youth section participate in many different competitions such as Bible Reading, Scripture quizzes, best William and Mary, written pieces to be displayed in our Boyne Celebration programmes and plays and presentations on our history. The Youth section also takes part in charity fundraising such as sponsored walks, helping to instill the importance of helping others within them.

The Youth section is regarded as the future of our institution, the endless work continues as we modernise and reinvent the Youth Section to fit in today’s society all the while maintaining our fundamental values and beliefs.
