On the 30th of October 2023, within the setting of the Crawford Hall in Partick, the Ladies Orange Association of Scotland recognised ten Ladies Lodges each marking their centennial milestone in 2023.
The evening, which was very well attended, was chaired by the Most Worthy Grand Mistress Sister Kirsty McAinsh, supported by members of the Ladies Committee.
A delegation from the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland, led by Bro. Eddie McGonnell, SDGM, were also pleased to join the Sisters to mark this special occasion.
Prior to the presentation to the Ladies Lodges, Sis. McAinsh, on behalf of the Ladies Association, presented a portrait of King Charles III to Grand Lodge which will take pride of place in our headquarters at Carlton Court. Bro. McGonnell gratefully accepted the portrait on behalf of the Grand Lodge Executive.
Each of the Lodges represented then delivered a captivating insight into the history of their Lodge before being presented by a set of mallets from the LOAS and a bible fall from GOLS.
A wonderful evening was concluded with those in attendance being treated to a fine spread provided by the LOAS with some fellowship and harmony enjoyed by all.
Congratulations are extended to Sis. McAinsh, and her committee, for all the arrangements and to those Lodges who are celebrating their centenaries this year, well done to all involved.
