John Knox LOL 132 Supporting Their Community

The Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland is proud to highlight the recent charitable efforts of John Knox LOL 132, Drongan, within the County of Ayrshire, Renfrewshire & Argyll.

What began as a simple act of fellowship became a powerful expression of our Institution’s three pillars: Faith, Hope and Charity.

Brothers Robert Gibson and George Gibson made their usual weekly visit to see their fellow Brother, David Gibson. On this occasion, accompanied by Bro Kevin Adams, the visit carried a special purpose. It was one of gratitude, fellowship and giving back.

In December 2025, LOL 132, alongside their trusted flute band Drongan Young Conquerors, hosted an afternoon of football, fun and fellowship in the Boolers. It was a day that reflected the strength of community in Drongan, with young and old coming together in friendship and shared purpose.

Through the generosity of those who attended and supported the event, funds were raised not for the lodge itself, but for organisations serving the local community.

The lodge was proud to present:

£300 to Dalmellington Care Home - A place of dignity and care for many within the community, including Bro David Gibson and Mrs Margaret Caine, widow of the late Brother James “Cally” Caine. Supporting those who once gave so much to others is a responsibility the lodge holds dearly.

£100 to Drongan Grass Roots - Providing vital Breakfast and After School Clubs for children in the village, offering working families practical support and young people opportunity.

£100 to Drongan Shaw Kirk - In recognition of their steadfast support within the village and the encouragement they provide to both lodge and band.

This is faith lived out.This is hope offered in practical form.This is charity carried out with humility. John Knox LOL 132 and Drongan Young Conquerors are to be commended for demonstrating that our colours are worn not only in parade, but in service to community.
