Brother Sam Innes takes on The Great Tommy Sleep Out for homeless veterans

In March 2027, Brother Sam Innes will spend a night sleeping outdoors as part of The Great Tommy Sleep Out, raising money for Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE) and the work they do for veterans who have found themselves without a home.

It's a cause Sam knows well, having taken part last year, and he's signed up again for 2027 because the need hasn't gone away. One in every 400 veterans in the UK is homeless, and for many of them the hardest battle comes after their service has ended.

Sam is clear about what the night is and what it isn't. As he puts it, it isn't about recreating homelessness or pretending to understand what veterans face. It's about raising vital funds and awareness, so that those who served are not left to rebuild their lives on their own.

Every donation helps RBVE provide emergency accommodation, routes into employment and supportive communities where veterans can regain their independence and move forward with purpose. In Sam's words, "no veteran should face their hardest battle alone."

Sam's fundraising page is now open, and the first donations make a real difference in getting his challenge off the ground. If you can, please get behind him, whether that's a donation, a share or a word of encouragement.
