Today, members of the Grand Lodge Executive, along with the Executive Officer, met with representatives from the Scottish Government to discuss the rising number of hate crime incidents targeting the Orange and wider Protestant community.

The meeting was productive, and our concerns were listened to by those in attendance. However, we must once again express our deep disappointment and frustration that no Scottish Government Minister chose to attend the meeting.

The Most Worthy Grand Master and the Executive Officer also conducted interviews with both BBC Scotland and BBC Radio Scotland, which are due to air this afternoon. These interviews reflect our continued commitment to publicly highlighting the scale and seriousness of the situation. Further updates will be provided in due course.

We will continue to seek direct engagement with the First Minister and senior Scottish Government Ministers to express our ongoing concerns and to demand meaningful action against the escalating number of hate crimes affecting our community.

The Loyal Orange Institution remains committed to representing our members and defending their right to live free from fear, discrimination, or targeted hostility.
