The Ladies Orange Association of Scotland recently hosted a memorable Songs of Praise evening, drawing an excellent attendance for a night filled with uplifting music, heartfelt reflection, and remarkable generosity.

The event, held in support of St Andrew’s United Free Church, Bellshill, was a true celebration of faith and fellowship. Alongside worship and music, moments of remembrance were shared, marking both VE/VJ Day and the 50th anniversary of the Tullyvallen Massacre, honouring the brethren whose lives were so cruelly taken.

Musical contributions came from the TS Accordion Quartet - William, Robin, Angela and Pamela - with further talent from Christopher (organist), Lynne (soloist), and Audrey (Media Director). The service was led by the Most Worthy Grand Mistress, Trustees and Ladies Chaplain, with a message of faith and encouragement brought by Rev. Bro. Jason Linguiah, whose words provided comfort and inspiration.

At the close of the evening, a cheque for £1,000 was presented by the Ladies Orange Association of Scotland to support the refurbishment of the church’s historic spire. This generous donation was made possible by the commitment of members, their families, and friends, reflecting the true charitable spirit of our Institution.

The night ended with a shared sense of joy and renewal, leaving all in attendance uplifted and encouraged to continue walking together in faith, friendship, and charity.

🗣️ “The generosity shown tonight has been truly overwhelming. This evening was not only a celebration of music and faith, but a testament to the power of our Institution coming together in support of something greater.” - Sister Kirsty McAinsh, Most Worthy Grand Mistress
